The PollyElectoral vote applies the combination principle to forecasting the number of Electoral College votes that each of the contending party tickets, the Republican McCain-Palin and the Democrat Obama-Biden, are expected to win on Election Day. Electoral College vote projections produced with different methods are averaged to generate a forecast. Polly began collecting data on September 1. Her projections are reported in the graph below. Please note: Where a forecast does not allocate the votes of a state considered a "toss-up" at this time, Polly divides the state's electoral votes between the two tickets.
